2010年代ではアークモデルというところから発売になっているキットです。買ったのは2000年前後でICM時代です。製作着手もその頃ですが、放置が長く、完成は2015年でした。
キットの出来はまあまあです。部品の合いもまあ良好なほうで、特段の不満はありません。
1941年秋、モスクワ防衛戦の最中、といった感じの情景で撮影してみました。後にエースとして鳴らしたドルグシンの180戦闘機連隊時の乗機です。
ミコヤンとグレビッチの共作のためミグと言います。そのため表記はMIGやMigではなく、MiGです。
ミコヤンとグレビッチはもともとポリカルポフの設計局にいて、独立（本人たちの意思ではなく、当局の指導）したので、実はMiG-3（外見はMiG-1と同じ）はI-16の発展型と捉えることもできます。機体後半がずんぐりむっくりしてI-16に似ているのは、そのためです。
MiG-3はクセがあり乗りこなすのが難しく、性能も秀でたものではなかったため早々に生産終了となった、というのは前世紀のデマなので信用しないでください。（＾＾）当時としてはMiG-3は優秀な素晴らしい戦闘機でした。どんな戦闘機でもクセはあるものです。
早期生産中止になった真相は、シュツルモビクと同型のエンジンを搭載していたからです。ソ連は強力なドイツ装甲師団を撃破するため、シュツルモビクの生産を最優先させました。エンジンはすべてシュツルモビクに振り分けられていきました。MiG-3は良い戦闘機ではありましたが、同時代のYakやLaGGより特別秀でるものでもなかったからです。MiGの犠牲のおかげでシュツルモビクは３万６千機も生産され、ドイツ装甲師団を撃滅することに成功しました。というのが現在の定説です。
This kit was new released from ICM in 1990s, and in 2010s it is released from Arc Model. I bought this kit as ICM's kit in 1990s.
This kit is good. Parts fitting is not bad.
This is a scene in the Defence of Moscow in fall of 1941. This aircraft is of Sergei Dolgushin who later awarded Hero of the Soviet Union and belongs to 180th Fighter Aviation Regiment (180 IAP).
It is called MiG because Mikoyan and Gurevich cooperated. So MiG is correct, MIG or Mig is an error.
Mikoyan and Gurevich were originally in the bureau of Polikarpov. Later they became independent. (not by their own will, but by a order from the government)
So MiG-3 (appearance is the same as MiG-1) can also be regarded as an evolution of I-16. That's why the rear shape of MiG-3 is similar to the I-16.
Production of MiG-3 was discontinued in a short period. Some old wrighter says the reason is because MiG-3 was poor performance than Yak-1 or LaGG-3. But this opinion is uncorrect. The correct reason is because MiG-3 had the same engine as IL-2. At that time, IL-2 was fully producted for attacking German powerful tanks.
MiG-3 was good performance as same as Yak-1 or LaGG-3, but was not much better than Yak-1 or LaGG-3.
At the expense of MIG-3, IL-2 was producted 30,600, and Soviet could destroyed German tanks.
