アカデミーの製品です。2000年代初期は、アカデミーの製品はサニー取り扱いで結構廉価でしたので、買いました。
部品の合いがかなり悪く、非常に作りづらかったです。もう１回作るのは無理です。（＾＾） ハセガワのは組みやすいんでしょうか？ハセガワでも1/72のベテランキットは苦労しましたが。
タミヤのはロケット弾がついていない型のようですね。ロケット弾フェチの私にはタミヤは眼中にないです。
マーキングはデカールを使いましたが、赤線の部分が他の資料では黄線だったりと、多少の考証解釈違いがあるようです。デカールは硬くてフィットしにくいものでした。
完成は2014年ですが、2017年にエナメル黒でシャドー吹きして撮影しました。
P-38というと設計開始年が古いうえ、日本では海軍甲事件で有名なので、大戦中期頃までの戦闘機と思われがちですが、PTO（太平洋戦線）では1945年まで普通に使われたようです。マーキングは475FGの Charles Henry "Mac" MacDonald 大佐乗機で、1944年フィリピン戦線ということなので、そんな雰囲気の情景にしてみました。
双発機の場合はカールドライヤーを２機使ってプロペラを回しています。
This is Academy's 1/48 kit. In early 2000s I bought it because Academy's kits were dealed by Sunny in Japan and this kit is very low prise at that time.
Parts fittings are bad and it was very difficult to build. It is impossible for me to build more another this kit. (＾＾) Is Hasegawa's kit easy to build? Speaking of Hasegawa, it was very difficult to build Hasegawa's 1/72 old kit.
Tamiya's 2019 new kit doesn't contain rockets. I love rockets, so Tamiya's kit is beneath my notice.
I used decals included in this kit. There is another opinion about red lines, - it might be yellow.
The decal was hard and difficult to fit. I got very tired.
I built this kit in 2014. And in 2017 I airbrushed it with thinned flat black enamel paint at panel lines. But the enamel coating is easy to peel off.
P-38 is an old fighter designed in 1930s, and is famous in Japan for Operation Vengeance, so it may be considered a fighter of the middle of WWII, but it was used until 1945 in the PTO (Pacific Theater).
Marking is of 475FG, colonel Charles Henry "Mac" MacDonald and in 1944 Philippine Front, so I took a picture looks like so.
I used two hairdryers to rotate two propellers.
