キャノピーは閉じて全部が１部品となったものと、開けられるようにピースごとになったもの、両方がセットされていますが、肉厚がありすぎて、開けた状態には組めません。恐るべき設計です。意味が分からないです。（＾＾;）
さらに、キャノピーマスキングのつもりで、白い普通の「紙シール」がセットされています。個々の窓のカタチにすべてカットされていますが、普通の紙シールなので厚く、粘着力が弱すぎるうえ、大きさも大きめで、全く使えませんでした。結局、普通のマスキングテープをチマチマと切って一生懸命マスキングしました。
塗装は上面はガイアのブルーグレー、腹面はほとんど白に近い、ニュートラルグレーⅠです。
国籍マークは、主翼は波板上になるため、結構なシルバリングが起きると考え、塗装にしました。
情景写真は、1942年式塗装のデバステーターが奮戦の場面ですが、実際は、ミッドウェイにも参加したものの、旧式化しており、ほぼ全機撃墜され、いいとこナシでした。
なので逆に、奮戦している場面を撮ってやりたくなり、こうなりました。
This Devastator is a Great Wall Hobby's 1/48 kit.
This kit contains both closed canopy and opend canopy. However, they are too thick, incredible thick. Therefore opend canopy parts are useless. Terrible!
And a "paper sticker" sheet is included as a canopy masking. This isn't made of material of masking tape, but is made of usual paper sticker. It was precut into the shape of each window, but it was too thick and has poor adhesion because it was a normal paper sticker. And its window size is a little large. After all, this "masking sheet" is useless, and I cut window masks from a normal masking tape by myself.
I used Gaia Color "Blue-gray" for upper hull and "Neutral gray I" for under hull.
The national marks were painted by me because the main wing is a corrugated surface and decal wouldn't fit on it.
The photo is a scene of Midway battle 1942. In fact, although Devastator participated in Midway battle, it was outdated and almost of all Devastators were shot down.
So on the contrary, I wanted to take a picture of bravely fighting.
