AZ Modelという簡易インジェクションっぽいメーカーの1/72ハンドレイページ・ハンプデンです。大戦初期の爆撃機ですね。ハムデンと発音しますが、日本語ではハンプデンと言う慣習になっています。
角度によっては日本の99双軽に似ていますが、胴体がマンボウのように縦に潰れており、また横から見ると、胴体部分だけ大きくて細長い尻尾がついている深海魚のような、変わった形状をしています。翼面積は結構ありますね。
カウリングが上下分割でしたが、間違えて右翼の上と左翼の上、右翼の下と左翼の下などと接着してしまったので、左右でディテールが違ってしまっています。また、機首キャノピー上部に機関銃口が出ていますが、その下の左側側面は窓ガラスです。間違って機体色で塗りつぶしてしまっています。見ないようにしてください。（＾＾;）
第49飛行隊はハンプデンを装備して開戦となり、ドイツ北部の要衛爆撃に活躍しました。後にランカスター爆撃機に装備換えとなりました。
This is a 1/72 AZ model's kit of Handley Page Hampden. Handley Page Hampden is a light bomber in early WWII.
It is a generally good kit for a small company's kit.
It looks like Japanese Lily bomber at an angle. But the hull is flat vertically like as a sunfish. And the profile looks like a deep sea fish with a large mouth and a long thin tail.
The cowls were spliting into upper and lower parts. But by my mistake I glued to the upper part of the right cowl and the lower part of the left cowl. Also, the upper part of the left cowl and the lower part of the right cowl. Therefore the detail of the right cowl is different from the left cowl...Please do not look.
There is a machine gun at the top of the nose canopy. In fact, the left side of this gun is a window. But I had painted it in body colour by my mistake...
National marks were painted by me. Letters are decals.
The 49th Squadron was equipped with Hampdens when WWII has begun. They bombed in northern Germany. Later they were replaced by Lancaster bombers.
