エアフィックスの1/48スピットファイアMk.XIIです。
エアフィックスがついにMk.XIIを発売してくれたおかげで、グリフォンエンジン付きスピットファイアの主要な型はすべて出そろったことになります。私のようなスピットファイアファンにとってはまさに狂喜の発売で、新発売と同時に買いました。しかし例によって放置が長く、完成は2016年です。
キットは2010年代のエアフィックス新作と同様、凹モールドが少し太いのが気にはなりますが、部品の合わせはピッタリです。飛行姿勢用の閉じた脚扉も入っています。
撮影中にバックミラーがどこかへ行ったようです。いま気づきました。（＾＾;）
Mk.XIIはそれまでのロールスロイス・マーリンエンジンを、より強力なグリフォンエンジンに換装した最初の型で、同時期のマーリンエンジンのMk.Ⅷ、Ⅸよりも機首が大きく、凄みが増したスタイルになっています。
また、Mk.XIIは空気の濃い低高度での戦闘を主眼とした型で、不必要な空気抵抗をカットするため、生産機はすべて主翼の端がスパッと切り取られた角張った形「切断翼」をしています。
今回、90年代に作ったエレール1/72のBf109Kを敵役に使ってみましたが、やはり1/72では大きくて画面がウルサくなるような気がします。1/144のほうがしっくりくる感じがします。これは着陸姿勢で組んでいるので、脚は見えない角度にして、プロペラはソフトで修正してあります。
This is a 1/48 Spitfire Mk.XII of Airfix.
Airfix released the Mk.XII, and this means all major types of griffon-engined Spitfires had been completed in 1/48 models. I got this kit with great joy at the same time as new release. But there was a long time until I started to build it.
Airfix's 2010's new kits are generally excellent. But the concave lines might be a little thicker. But good. I can build Airfix's kits feel free.
Parts for flight mode are included too.
I lost a rearview mirror on the top of the canopy.
The Mk.XII is the first model to replace the Rolls-Royce Marlin engine with a more powerful Griffon engine. The Mk.XII has a bigger nose and a powerful style than the Marlin engine type.
The Mk.XII is a model for low altitude. And both wingtips of all Mk.XII are cut off because the air is dense in low altitude.
In this time I used 1/72 Heller Bf109. But I think it is big for this picture. I think 1/144 is suitable for this picture.
