独特なデザインが、コアなファンに大人気の爆撃機、アブロ・バルカンです。
独特な三角シルエットをアピールするように上から撮影するのがデフォルトですが、写真のアングルが、バルカンらしからぬスマートなシルエットで好きだったりします。
キットはピットロードの1/144です。模型の大きさ的には、この1/144か、あったとしたら1/100程度が手ごろかもしれません。エアフィックスの1/72(持ってません。)ではかなり大きくなりますよね。機体はノッペリなので、大きくても小さくてもディテールには差が出そうにない感じです。
キットは運用終盤期の、対地ミサイルを外部に装備した状態にも組めるので、それにしました。
マスキングは練り消しです。６年以上使っていると、シンナーを吸収してベトベトになってきます。色の境目をハッキリとかぼんやりとか、あまりシビアにはこだわらない性格なので、相応の出来でしかありませんケド。
下面のグレーが濃いような気がしますが、説明図どおりです。ググったところ、定番のライトグレーのもありますが、確かに濃いグレーのものもあるようです。
ところでこの情景写真は、「現実にはない情景」です。先進国どうしの総力戦にならないかぎり、現代戦では、大型爆撃機が20機程の大編隊で出撃することはないですからね～。
ちなみにバルカンは80年代に全機退役しています。60年代の爆撃機なのです。
A bomber Avro Vulcan has a unique shape. It is very popular among heavy fans.
In many cases this plane is taken a photo from above to show a unique triangular shape. But this time I took a photo from the side. Is it cool?
This is a 1/144 Pit-Road's kit. About size of a model, 1/144 or 1/100 may be comfortable, I think. 1/72 Airfix's kit seems very big.
The surface of this plane is simple. So I don't think it has a difference in detail whether big or small.
This kit can be built as the last type which is equipped with missiles.
I used putty eraser as a mask for painting. Putty eraser has low inicial adhesive power, but during six years it took up thinner, it has high adhesive power.
Gray under the hull is dark, I think. But this is as the instruction. I researched the colour and confirmed there are both this gray and standard light gray.
This picture is only my image. This large formation of Avro Vulcan is not real unless it becomes a total war. But it is very cool?
Avro Vulcan retired by 1980's. It was a main bomber in 1960's.
