第二次上海事変（淞沪会战之二）での奮戦のイメージで撮影しました。
ローデンのハインケルHe111Aですが、超絶にヒドイキットでした。すべてのパーツが、簡易インジェクションよりヒドく、キッチリ合うものがほとんどありませんでした。爆弾投下室など胴体内部も再現されているものの、オーバースケールで見苦しいので省略しました。胴体窓の部品も全く合いません。修正結果もガタガタですが、相当がんばって、ここで力尽きたのです。
He111A-0は、ほとんど増加試作機といったものです。飛行性能に重大な欠陥があり、普通に飛ぶのは良いですが、ある機動をすると墜落します。当然、ドイツでは不採用でしたが、中国が丸込められて買わされてしまいました。購入したのは広東政府軍で、８機買い、２機は研究用にバラし、６機が部隊配備されました。その後広東政府は蒋介石の南京国民政府に併呑されたので、国民革命軍として６機が抗日戦争に参加しました。
広東軍配備のころは白っぽい塗装で、写真もいくつか残っています。国民革命軍の頃の写真はほとんど残っていないようですが、戦闘経過は残っています。それによると、機番号は1901から1906までで、３機編隊で第二次上海事変に出動し敵陣を粉砕したり95式艦戦を撃墜するなど奮戦しましたが、1902を除いて撃墜されてしまったとのことです。この1902番機は後に民間の輸送機としてエンジンを空冷に換えて使われ続けました。
というわけで、キット付属のデカールの機番８０１はあやしいです。今回はマスキングテープで機番を切り出しました。本当にこのような書体・大きさの機番だったかは不明ですが、こういうものとしてイラストが出回っていますので、それに従いました。デカールは方向舵のシマシマもおかしいです。正しくは、一番上は青から始まります。ちなみに箱絵や説明書ではプロペラスピナーも、中央に穴のあるものになっていますが、穴のないものがA-0では正解です。機首先端の機銃ドームも、フレームが十字のものでなく横一文字のものが正解です。２点とも広東軍時代の実機写真で確認できます。幸いに、２点ともキットに不要部品として入っています。
結局、全く考証のできていないキットでした。あくまでも「初期の東欧キット」ということを忘れてはならない製品でした。

This kit is a Heinkel He111A by Roden, but it is a very terrible poor kit. All parts are poor and very bad fitting. I suffered from big gaps of the parts. The interior of the hull, such as a bomb room, is represented. But it is overscaled. So I omitted it. The parts of hull windows are very bad fitting. I modified the parts for good fitting, and I got tired but I could not modify them fine.
He111A-0 is almost a prototype. It has a serious problem in flight performance and it is good to fly normally, but it will crash if it have a difficult maneuver. Needless to say, He111A was not used by Luftwaffe, and German sold them to China. Its "China" is the Guangdong government air force. They bought 8 aircrafts, and two of them were disassembled for research, and 6 were used by the combat unit. Since then, the Guangdong government was swallowed by Chiang Kai-shek's Nanjing national government, so six aircraft participated in the Anti-Japanese War as the National Revolutionary Army.
When these He111As were used by the Guangdong Army, they had a whitish colour. There are some photos left.
In the era of National Revolutionary Army, there are not any photos left. But battle reports remain. According to them, these He111As have numbers from "1901" to "1906", and they fought in the second Shanghai incident in three-aircrafts formations. They destroyed the enemy army and shot down some Type 95 carrier-based fighters, but they were shot down except for "1902". This "1902" was later used as a civilian transport aircraft which water-cooled engines had exchanged into air-cooled engines.
Therefore the decal "801" included in this kit is suspicious. This time I cut out the machine number from a standard masking tape. I'm not sure whether size and typeface of "1902" is correct, but I followed a famous illustration on the web. As for the decal of this kit, the stripes of the rudder is not correct too. Correctly, the top is blue. Moreover, in the box picture and an instruction, the propeller spinner has a hole in the center. But correctly, it has no hole for He111A-0. Moreover, the nose canopy of this kit has cross frame, but correctly, it has mono frame. Both points can be confirmed in the actual photo of the Guangdong Army era. Fortunately, correct spinners and a correct nose canopy are included in this kit as unnecessary parts.
After all, this is a very poor investigation kit. We must remember this kit is an old kit of Eastern Europe.
