Ju188の肥大化した丸い機首のデザインが大好きで、イタレリ1/72を２度、ドラゴン1/48も作りました。
Ju88の「末端肥大型」飛行機です。肥大化部分は機首キャノピー全般と、翼端の延長です。
2019年、零戦を作った時の「マスキング販売」社のキャノピーマスキングに感激したので、「これなら爆撃機のキャノピーも楽勝じゃないか！」と感激し、二の足を踏んでいたハセガワキットを急遽調達し、キャノピーマスキングも調達して速攻で製作しました。マスキングの所要時間は30分くらいでした。普通のマスキングテープをコマ切れにしてチマチマやっていたら２時間コースだったと思います。
製作は特に問題はありませんが、Ju88とコンパチ設計のため、機首や垂直尾翼、主翼端が別部品となっており、ハセガワのいつものことですが、部品の合いが少し甘いです。また、エンジンシリンダー部品が注型ショートして欠損していましたが、あまり見えない部分なので、そのまま作りました。これがハセガワの品質管理クオリティーということで。。。
I love the front shape of this plane because it looks like a creature. I built two Italeri's 1/72 kits and a 1/48 Dragon's kit.
I was very impressed at a canopy masking sheet of "Masking-Hanbai company" when I built a Zero fighter. So I thought I will be able to easily mask a complex canopy of a bomber. So I swiftly ordered this Ju188 kit and a canopy masking sheet for it. I could mask its canopy in only 30 minutes. If I mask with tiny pieces of masking tape, I would have spent 2 hours.
(Masking-Hanbai company is a tiny one-person business. I think its items are available in Japan only.)
No problem for building the kit. But this Ju188 kit is a recombination kit of Ju88, so nose, tail and long wing tips are separated from main hull or wings. They are not good fitting.
There was a short shot in a part of engine. This part is hardly to see from outside, and I used this part without repair. This is Hasegawa's (poor) quality!
