機首やエンジン回りのグラマラスな曲線のシルエットが官能的で大好きな機体です。
マッチボックスのMe410が大好きで、90年代に２機作りました。
今回20年ぶりにまた作りたくなり、1/72のコレか、MENGの1/48にするかで散々悩みましたが、MENGは精密で部品も多く時間がかかりそうなので、結局小さいほうのコレ、ファインモールド1/72にしました。
ファインモールド1/72は、デカールは１種のみ。説明書はB-1/U2/R4（20mm機銃２丁のガンパックを機体下部に装備した型）と共用だが部品は当該機のものしか入っていないという仕様。なぜコンパチにしないんでしょうかね。在庫管理面倒くさそうですが。
箱絵を２つに分けて画家先生への報酬費も２倍にしておきながら、説明書は共用。気合い入れているのか、羽振りがいいのか、ケチなのか、面倒くさがりなのか、ファインモールドのやりかたはよく分かりませんね。（＾＾;）
製品自体はサクサク組めますので、何のストレスもありませんでした。キャノピーのマスキングに１時間以上費やしましたが、これは最初から想定済みです。
国籍マークと白帯は毎度塗装ですが、スピナーの渦巻は今回はデカールにしました。いつも、この曲線マスキングがガタガタになってしまうので。。。
上空のB-17は1/144の塗装済み食玩です。

I like Matchbox's kit, and built two times in 1990's.
20 years later, now, I wanted to build a new kit. I was debating which one to choose, 1/72 Fine mold's kit or 1/48 Meng's kit. At last I chose a simple 1/72 Fine mold's kit.
This kit contains decals for only one version. The instruction is common for both Me410A-2/U4(long 37mm gun) and B-1/U2/R4(20mm gun x2) kit. But the kit contains either Me410A-2/U4 or B-1/U2/R4. I think if both parts are packed, they can easily manage product inventory...
Parts of this kit are good fitting. We can build easily. It was a little complex to mask on the canopy. But this was within expectations.
I airbrushed this model in flat black first, and put RLM76, 74, 75 on the model carefully by a 0.2mm airbrush.
Balkan Crosses and white band were painted by me, not decals.
But white line on the spinner is a decal. I cannot paint this fine.
The B-17 is a toy 1/144.
