愛称の「サエッタ」は稲妻、矢の意だそうです。後世の我々から見ると、鈍重な感じに見えますが。（＾＾）
キットは単にイタレリの箱替えでなく、エンジンロッド部品が新規造形になっていたり、パイロットが２人（1人は予備）付属しています。
デカールはカルトグラフのものが付属しています。いつもカルトグラフのは肉厚が厚すぎで馴染まないのでキライ、とかブーブー言っている私ですが、今回のものはよい感じでした。
が、念には念を入れ、貼り付けてしばらく置いて軽く水分を取った後、ドライヤーで温めてデカールを軟化密着させました。雑誌では熱い蒸しタオルを押し付けると良いなどと紹介されていますが、すぐ冷えてしまうので、いつも無理やりドライヤーを当てています。
今回は、ピトー管を修正しました。デカール貼り場面の写真は、修正前で、キットのパーツのピトー管がついています。よくある形状のピトー管です。ちょっと太いなー、と思いながらも完成させてしまいましたが、ネットで戦時中の写真を見ると、どれも直線だけれども、下に枝が付いたものになっていました。
というわけで、太さも気になっていたところ、形状も違ったので、真鍮パイプなどで作り直し、根元周辺部の塗装をやり直しました。
情景撮影には対戦相手にP-40Eを使っていますが、1940年フランス戦には存在していない機種ですので、H-75かMS406、D.520だか何か分からないようなアングルにして撮りました。
Nickname "Saetta" means lightning or arrow. But we, peoples in jet era, cannot image this dully plane as lightning or arrow...
This kit is producted by ITALERI, and Tamiya add a part of engine rods and two pilots to this kit and sells. One of the two pilots is bonus.
Straight simple thick pitot tubes are originally included in this kit. But in fact, MC200 had not straight simple pitot tubes. Its pitot tube has a branch under the tube, and is all black. I found it after completed the model. After that, I made the pitot tubes from brass tube and a stretched sprue.
I airbrushed this model in flat black first, and put sand brown, red brown and dark green on the model carefully by a 0.2mm airbrush.
This kit originally contains Cartograf decal. Cartograf decal is usually thick and is not good, but this decal is very good.
But making sure, after I attached decals, I dried them by the hot air by a hairdryer. Hot air softens decal. But attention not to melt the model!
After that, I airbrushed thinned enamel flat black on the decals lightly.
