共和政ローマのガイウス・ユリウス・カエサルです。
カエサルの最高位は終身独裁官ですが、これはもっと前、ガリアのアレシアでの戦闘時の軍装です。アレシア包囲戦は、ガリア最大の英雄にしてフランス人の祖、ウェルキンゲトリクスをローマ軍が打ち破った、当時のこの地方最大の戦いです。
キットは、美術館の有名な彫像をモデルにしつつ、ヘルメットなどを付け加えた感じです。
2015年ごろからの新進気鋭のメーカー、Scale75の75mmホワイトメタルキットです。90年代後半からヒストリカルフィギュアを見ていますが、どのメーカーも家内制手工業のため、多くのメーカーが興っては消滅し、のくり返しです。しかし時代が進むごとに、製品のディテールもポーズも素晴らしいものになっていきますので、いつまで経ってもヒストリカルフィギュアには飽きることがありません。
このフィギュアは、台座の後ろの岩に、マントの裾が合致するようになっていますが、そうしたらやけに後ろに傾いてしまいました。仮組をしっかりやって修正しておけばよかったです。
後ろの54mmフィギュアはペガソモデルスのものです。本当は１世紀の軍装ですが、カエサル時代とまあたいして変わらないじゃろ、と思って組み合わせてみました。が、やっぱり角形の盾はやはりアウグストゥス以降の時代が主流と思います。。。

Caesar's highest rank is a dictator for life, but this figure is the military costume in the battle of Arecia in Gaul. The Siege of Alesia was the largest battle in Gaul at that time, when the Roman army defeated Gaul's greatest hero and French ancestor, Welkingetrix.
The kit is modeled after a famous statue in the museum, and a helmet is added to it.
The hem of the cloak of this figure is matched with the rock of the base, but the figure leans backwards. I should have assembled temporarily and adjusted it.
The 54mm figure in the back is from Pegaso Models. It's actually 1st century armament, but I thought that it might not be changed very much from the Caesar era… But, I think that the square shield is suitable for the era after Augustus…
